University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has again sent 4.300 students in Student Study Service (KKN) during July 27th to August 25th. There are 130 villages in 15 districts and towns throughout East Java becoming targets.
“UMM is the only university in East Java covering a widest range of KKN,” said Prof. Dr. Sujono, Head of Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) UMM, Saturday (25/7) as releasing the students in UMM Dome.
In KKN implementation, said Sujono, UMM has four targets of village development: human resource development, economy, social culture, and religion. Meanwhile, the Director of Family Enforcement and Social Institutional from Ministry of Social (Kemensos) Drs. Hasbullah, M.Si also explained that UMM is one of 14 private universities in Indonesia that collaborates with Kemensos in implementing KKN, especially in a program named “Desa Sejahtera Mandiri” (Prosperous Independent Village) proposed by Kemensos.
“We believe UMM students will give benefits to target villages,” said him.
“Vice Rector III UMM Dr. Diah Karmiyati, P.Si noted to all students to behave during in the village. “Metaphorically, we are guest of the village. Give your best for them,” she ended. The event was then closed by attributing KKN alma mater to two students symbolically. (zul/han/t_stu)
