University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) became one of the vaccination locations held by the Military District Command (Kodim) 0818, Malang-Batu. The vaccination process was held for two days, namely on July 22-23 at the UMM Dome Hall. The implementation is carried out by adhering to strict health protocols following existing regulations.
On that occasion, Major CKM Hartoko as the deputy coordinator of the vaccination executive explained that the supply of vaccines provided came from the TNI health center (Puskes) and the East Java Health Office (Dinkes). The vaccine target given is 3000 Sinovac vaccines per day. "So in two days, our target is around 6000 vaccines. If there are too many vaccines, we will transfer them to another place. On the other hand, if the amount is insufficient, we will ask the Health Center or Health Office. The vaccines given are free of charge, "he said.
Hartoko explained that the selection of UMM as a vaccination location could not be separated from good and possible facilities. There are several things to consider, starting from the parking lot, a strategic location to the number of shelters that can be provided. According to him, these considerations are important so, that the vaccination agenda can be carried out with strict procedures according to government regulations.
He also appreciated the public's high enthusiasm for vaccination. Hartoko hopes that this schedule can minimize the transmission of Covid-19 which has recently increased. "I also invite people who have not been vaccinated to immediately register and get it so they can suppress the transmission of Covid-19," said Hartoko.
Meanwhile, UMM Vice Chancellor III Dr. Nur Subeki, ST. MT. revealed that the choice of the White Campus as a vaccination site was not surprising. According to him, UMM has a representative place to hold related activities. "We also dispatched the UMM Covid Task Force team, Maharesigana, and several volunteers from BEM to participate in helping at the location," he added.
Eki, his nickname, hopes that this vaccination process will be able to form a new ecosystem that can coexist with the Covid-19 virus. Not only for the campus academic community but also the wider community, especially residents around UMM. "We will also continue to strive to be the engine of change in every aspect of people's lives," he said.
Also present were the Deputy Regent of Malang, Drs. Didik Gatot Subroto, S.H., M.H. on the vaccination schedule to monitor. He conveyed that people should continue to maintain health protocols even though they have received the vaccine. Didik also thanked the health workers who had been trying their best. "Let's pray together so that the health workers are giving health so they can carry out activities and contribute and help us all," he concluded. (wil)
