The breakthrough of the Center of Excellence (CoE) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) received appreciation from Mr. Takeyama Kenichi, Consulate General of Japan based in Surabaya. He conveyed this during a visit to the UMM White Campus on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Moreover, UMM also actively delegates the best human resources to Sakura country to work. He even visited the vocational building, one of the training centers for superior young people.

Takeyama emphasized that he supports the CoE program and continues to recommend UMM to many people—especially those looking for training for superior human resources. "I think CoE is a good innovation because the participants can get a lot of experience and of course a suitable job guarantee. I also had time to greet the participants and training students directly. They are very enthusiastic and enjoy this program," said Takeyama.

When he walked around the UMM campus, he was surprised because it turned out to be a large White Campus—equipped with a series of facilities that support the student education process. Likewise, business units such as hotels, workshops, hospitals, and recreational parks continue to be developed.

"I was invited to visit UMM's tour, namely the Sengkaling Recreation Park and also enjoy food and drinks at the UMM Café Container. This is cool because the campus is not only concerned with education, but is able to develop various businesses. This is certainly an attraction for cooperation, especially the CoE program, "explained the man from Japan.

The CoE is indeed proof of UMM's commitment to preparing superior human resources to meet the needs and challenges of the times, mainly in the aspect of the business world and the industrial world. One exciting step is attracting a series of foreign companies, including Japan.

On the other hand, UMM Rector, Prof. Dr. Fauzan M.Pd., hopes that the visit of the Japanese consul general can attract many Japanese companies and strengthen the existing cooperation. This will improve the quality of CoE and further spread the benefits to others.

"We are optimistic that we can get recognition from the Japanese consulate, especially with regard to cooperation with the Japanese government. It certainly makes our network wider and easier to prepare a bigger field for alumni. So we are not only preparing excellent human beings, but also creating a climate and many fields," he concluded.
