The Honorary Consulate of Italy visits UMM, Preparing to Establish Collaboration

Expanding the international relationship, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) welcomed the visit of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia (Konhor RI) Florence, Italy Mr. Jacopo Cappucio Italy. The visit took place on August 5th at the UMM Rectorate Office. In the meeting, there were many potential sectors to be cooperated between UMM and Italy, especially with universities in Florence, Italy.

Mr. Jacopo Cappucio admitted that he was very impressed with the white campus that was able to utilize all existing potential. Ranging from the utilization of natural resources and human resources for the benefit of the community. This includes the Professor Penggerak Pembangunan Masyarakat (P3M), the utilization of water flow into a Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH), and so on.

"The collaboration with UMM is very potential, both from research and the implementation of research products, we know that UMM has a lot of professors who are experts in their respective fields. Furthermore, the collaboration for knowledge exchange can also be done," he added.

In addition, Jacop, his nickname, also hopes that the relationship between UMM and the Florence RI Consulate General will always be warmly established. Considering that UMM is currently highly regarded in international world. The meeting opened up opportunities for the white campus to expand cooperation, especially with the University in Florence, Italy.

On the other hand, Dr. (H.C.) Drs. Priyo Iswanto S.Hum., M.H Special Staff of the Rector for International Cooperation said that currently the white campus already has hundreds of collaborations with various universities abroad. He admitted that UMM would certainly not get tired of expanding the network of cooperation for the benefit of internationalization.

"We are confident to receive various collaborations, especially with foreign universities. In the future, based on this collaboration with the Indonesian Consulate in Florence, we will send students for an exchange program to the University of Florence," he added.

Not only that, Priyo, as he is known, added that human resource management at UMM is also widely seen in international world.  He explained that soon he would send approximately 5 nurses from the UMM Hospital to itaila to exchange their knowledge. He also expected that in the future, UMM will be more widely recognized by the world in various sectors. (Faq/Put)
