Tennis and Badminton Team of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held soarring tour to University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) on Sunday (25/3) |
Tennis and Badminton of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held sparring tour to University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) on Sunday (25/3). This sparring tour was aimed to keep the hospitality between sport clubs of Muhammadiyah universities. UMS Team visited UMM last January. Vice Rector II UMS, Dr.Sardjito said that he is proud of UMM team’ visit. On his speech, Dr.Sardjito said, “I hope that this sparring tour can strengthen the hospitality between tennis team of UMM and UMS”.
Dr.Sulardi, the Vice Chairman of UMM Tennis team thanked to the hosts for their warm welcome. Dr.Sulardi, who is also a lecturer of Law Faculty, said, “I hope that this good relationship can spread goodness and blessing for all. It does not matter whether we win or lose. We say Alhamdulillah if we win, if not, it is a charity”.
On Tennis match, Sulardi and Bayuaji from UMM won over Sardjito and Fuad from UMS by scoring 6-0. Then, 3 couples of UMS team won over UMM. The match was pending because it was raining. Next, Ridlo and Prapto from UMM scored 5:5 over Dimyati and Fuad from UMS. Finally, UMM Tennis team won 5 times, draw 1, and pending 1.
Ridlo, one of Tennis player of UMM, said,”I hope there will be a kind of Sports Week for lecturers and staffs of Muhammadiyah Universities, like what UMM and UMS did”.
There were 11 double players on Badminton match. UMM team dominated scores over UMM team. Haeri and Ridlo from UMM won over Ngatono and Aan from UMS by getting 30-21 points. Ngatono,SE, MM as the Captain of UMS team said that the skill of the players are on the average level. He said, “Some of UMM players are still young and have good skills”. Both teams expect that this sparring tour can strengthen the relationship between both universities. Moreover, this event can be a blessing for Muhammadiyah Education. (lus)
