Another proud achievement was achieved by the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). For three consecutive periods, the passing rate of the Medical Profession Program Student Competency Test (UKMPPD) at the Faculty of Medicine (FK) was more than 90%. Most recently, in the May period, the graduation rate for UKMPPD FK UMM reached 95.9%. This achievement is known through the National Committee for Student Competency Test for the Doctor Profession Program (PNUKMPPD).
One of the mentors of UKMPPD FK UMM, dr. Yusrin Aulia admitted that she was very proud of the achievements achieved by FK UMM. She revealed that could not be separated this achievement from the role of lecturers and mentors. Likewise, the vital role of faculty and students who have worked closely together.

"To maintain the quality of graduates, we, FK UMM, emphasize the importance of mentoring students who will take the UKMPPD exam. This mentoring is carried out in two events, namely through large classes and also several private classes. With this program, students will understand more about the exam questions that will hold," Yusrin continued.
On the other hand, the Dean of FK UMM, Dr. dr. Meddy Setiawan, SpPD., said that his party had taken several steps to improve graduate quality. The first is to tighten the admission selection for new students at the beginning of student admission. In addition, there is an evaluation of the success of the study every fourth and seventh semester. The faculty also assists students intensively for one semester through guardian lecturers.

“We also require students to take a Comprehensive Clinical Refreshment (CCR) before entering the medical profession. In addition, there is also a Clinical Integrated Assessment (CIA) test which is conducted before students take part in UKMPPD. In the professional field, we also educate strictly by involving clinical teaching lecturers from the Main Education Hospital, Surabaya Haji Hospital, six educational network hospitals, as well as clinical lecturers from the UMM Medical Faculty," said the lecturer from Blitar.
Meddy said that in the future, FK would continually improve its quality by evaluating the curriculum according to market needs and UMM's vision and mission. “I hope that the steps we have taken as educators can produce and produce doctors who are professional and trustworthy. We also hope that students can continue to improve their theoretical understanding and skills even though they are still in the pandemic period," he concluded. (syi/wil)
