As the slogan from Muhammadiyah for the Nation, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is always providing community service. This time, a group of UMM students held community service in Singgahan Village, Kebonsari District, Madiun Regency (6/2). This group is part of the student community service program (PMM).

The team, consisting of Rosita Ayu Dyah Setiyani and Aulia Aziza, is helping Singgahan Village in rebranding its tourism village. Both saw that the village administrators were mostly middle-aged, while most of the young people had migrated abroad.

"Because most of the tourism village managers are elderly, they cannot make full use of technology. Finally, we assist in the management and promotion of the tourism industry, including through social media, "said the student who was born in Madiun.

Apart from that, the team also provided plant seed assistance to village managers. He hopes that in addition to beautifying tourist attractions, he hopes this can also be an effort to prevent floods and landslides.

"This tourist village is on the bank of a river so, it is prone to disasters. Therefore, we decided to assist with plant seeds,” continued Rosita.

Not only that, Rosita and Aziza also helped the village's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) increase the value of their products. Both provide packaging and labeling regulations for snack and seasoning products.

"UMKM products in Singgahan Village are well known. But they don't understand how to make good packaging and label functions. That's why we socialize it, "explained Rosita.

Finally, she hopes that the dedication of the team can have a good impact on the villagers. She concluded: "I hope this Singgahan tourist village continues to grow so that one day it can improve its national economy." (apg / syi / sil)
