Annisa Berliana Dewi is one of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences (Fikes) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). She won the Best Participant award at the International Summer School event on August 23-26. The event was organized by the Association of Indonesian Pharmacy Universities (APTFI).
This Summer School was attended by 3,000 Pharmacy students from 16 different countries. Some of them come from Timor Leste, Malaysia, to Brazil. She thanks herself for performing well throughout the agenda. In addition, the score he got in the post-test on the last day became a plus for him. The speed in the work also received special attention in supporting the assessment that he got as the best participant.
“Luckily, UMM has provided English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes for students. So, I have no trouble if I have to participate in international events like today. This English skill really helps me in understanding the material presented,” said Annisa.
Furthermore, at the event, she discussed herbal plants in Sumatra and their use as immunomodulators. The theme is very interesting for the wider community, especially Pharmacy students. In midst of a pandemic, this is a boosts the immune system.
Finally, she thought pandemic is not an obstacle to achievement and work. Instead, she invited other students to make the most of this situation. (wil/nain)
