The lack of public awareness to check their health thoroughly is a trigger for students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in designing medical check-up equipment with a self-service system. This tool is named Meckup Machine which stands for Medical Check Up Machine. This innovation was designed by five Industrial Engineering students, namely Andika Muhammad Zaky, Pandu Satya Wirawan, Muhammad Atsal Fadhil, Reyhani Rahmadita, and Afif.

Andika, one of the team members, said that it all started with a conversation with family and close friends regarding health checks. Surprisingly, many of them rarely or never do it. So, he and the team finally took the initiative to create the tool with innovation.

The Meckup Machine is a machine that aims to make it easier for people to do medical check-ups. Especially for those who have a middle to lower economy. There are several ways the machine works. It begins with payment via e-money by the user by following the instructions on the screen.

Then the user is asked to answer a few questions about health history first. Then they can do all the health tests on the machine. If so, the user will get the final result of the check in the form of a receipt. If the user is indicated to have a disease, the user can choose the option of purchasing first aid medicine.

"On this machine there are several health checks, including checking height, eyes, blood pressure, body temperature, oxygen saturation, and swab tests. All of these checks are designed for self-service. This machine also has good machine safety protection and will be easy for the community to use," Andika explained.

Andika also explained that the process of designing this Meckup Machine took 3 months. Interestingly, Meckup Machine has also been exhibited in the UMM Industrial Engineering Product Design and Development Exhibition (P3) 2023 and won 3rd place. Even with the champion as the best poster last January. The plan is that this innovation will also be submitted to the Student Creativity Programme-Creative Initiative (PKM-KC).

"I hope, in the future, we can continue the Meckup Machine project by adding various features. So that it can be widely used by people who have difficulty conducting a thorough body examination at a real low price," he concluded. (cdr/sep/wil)
