UMM Students Wins National Capital Market Competition

Nur Azizah and Harpiyansa, students of Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) earlier this November managed to win the National Capital Market Competition. Both of them were selected as third place winner in a competition organized by the Capital Market Student Club of the University of Indonesia.
They submitted a paper entitled "Analysis of Company Shares from Various Sectors and Industries during the Covid-19 Pandemic and New Normal". In particular, this paper discusses and analyzes companies from different types of sectors to obtain data, which sectors are good enough to invest in during the pandemic and the New Normal.
Based on the analysis of 11 issuers/companies, 7 companies are optimal, namely PT. Herbal and Pharmaceutical Industry Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO), PT. Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk (DVLA), PT. Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI), PT. Supra Boga Lestari Tbk (RANC), PT. Medikaloka Hermina Tbk (HEAL), PT. XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL), and PT. Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO).
From the analysis, optimally the company is supported apart from the financial statements of each company as well as the stock valuation and technical analysis of each company. "Which is the company's financial statements has a pretty good report in the last few years. As well as seen from the stock valuation, each company on average has a pretty good condition, although it can be said that it is quite overpriced, "said Nur Azizah.
Meanwhile, continued Nur, based on the technical analysis of each company it can be concluded that PT. Herbal and Pharmaceutical Industry Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO), PT. Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk (DVLA), PT. Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI), PT. Supra Boga Lestari Tbk (RANC), PT. Medikaloka Hermina Tbk (HEAL), and PT. Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) received a summary of Very Buy. However, PT. XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) received a Strong Sell analysis in October-November 2020. (nain / can)
