Communication Science study program University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a guest lecture under the theme “Opportunity of Media Television Convergence in Indonesia” at Hall of GKB III UMM on Monday (2/4). This event presented Gatot Triyanto as the Director of Muhammadiyah TV and Rudi Satrio Lelono as the Creative Manager of Malangvoice.com. in addition, the event was attended by 227 participants from Communication Science class 2016 and 2017.
Director of Muhammadiyah TV, Gatot Triyanto conveyed that in 2016, there are 132,7 million Indonesian people are internet users. Because of this, many media entrepreneurs turn to the digital world. Gatot said that there are things that need to be considered which are fund and point of view. Gatot said, “We have to pay attention to choose angle of news in order to minimize the similarity because of the existing media convergence”.
Himawan Sutanto, the Head of Comminication Science UMM conveyed that thios guest lecture is one of efforts to prepare the students to face obstacles in media world, especially in journalism both online and aired. Himawan said, “Next, we will have MoU to support Muhammadiyah television development related to information and up to date”. (lus)
