Chief Executive Board (BPH) of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Prof. Dr. HA Malik Fadjar MA, invited current generation who work and take part in UMM to be a helpful generation.
Malik said that, currently, UMM is managed by third generation and fourth generation. "I hope this generation will reinforce its meaning for this era," Malik said at a public meeting held at UMM Auditorium on Saturday (21/10).
Quoted American historian, Henry Adams, Malik said, the strongness of a nation depends on education. According to Malik, teacher and lecturer has a tremendous influence on the nation's future and civilization.
"This deals with UNESCO's view, recovery begins with teacher," said Malik who is also a member of Presidential Advisory Board (Wantimpres) of Republic of Indonesia.
To be a strong generation, there must be a vitamin and nutrition. "Ali bin Abi Talib said, prepare your children for an era that is not yours. The strength of this campus is yours, depending on your commitment and integrity," Malik said.
Meanwhile, UMM Rector. Fauzan, analogized the task at this campus is like the task of the Prophet, which is bringing the dark to bright nature. "That is the enlightenment we are doing," said Rector.
Therefore, he hopes that UMM academic community will improve their performance and individuality to become an enlightening institution. "Many trust us," said Rector. (ard)
