Explaining further, Dr Mariman Darto Darto, M. Si, the Head of the Alumni Association, stated that this grand reunion has been lasting for 4 years. It aims to give recognition to accomplished UMM alumni and introduce the Millennial Agriculture Academy program.

Delivered by Darto, the Millennial Agriculture Academy will be a vocational institution that will generate eminent human resources ready to work. They are not only equipped to be a worker but also to be a young entrepreneur who can provide job vacancies for others.
“The Millennial Agriculture Academy intends to create human resource competency in Borneo, which aligns with the program priority of the Governor of East Borneo. This program is also in line with what UMM does, which is to spread the benefit of the Center of Excellence (CoE) Program to all Indonesian regions, especially East Borneo”, Darto expressed.
Meanwhile, this Alumni Association of UMM has three missions. Firstly, they intend to prove that the alumni of UMM can be a great person and succeed in generating an eminent individual. The second is sharing sustenance and benefits to do positive activities. Thirdly, they aim to care for the environment and society.
“If the three missions are successfully achieved, I believe that UMM’s reputation not only will increase, but also Indonesia, which can shine the universe as the ideology of Muhammadiyah does,” he asserted.
On the same occasion, the Rector of UMM, Dr Fauzan, M. Pd., attended the grand reunion. He perceives that the Alumni Association of UMM is inseparable from the part of the White Campus. In the past, Fauzan used to study at UMM. Now, he is directly involved in spreading benefits to society. In his view, what the Alumni Association in East Borneo does is strategic power and program.
Fauzan also wants the alumni of UMM to synergise in developing the university. Primarily, he has seen them succeed in working in various fields. From his perspective, it is a potential and is interested in improvement. “The collaboration with alumni is naturally a potential partnership. There are many sectors where we can establish partnerships,” Fauzan ended his statement. (imh/ros/wil)
