UMM KaCa Car Returned Happy Madiun Flood Victims

The flood disaster that hit a number of areas in Madiun, East Java became special attention the Car ofKamis Membaca (KaCa) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Thursday (3/14). This literacy concept car shared its happiness, especially with children by introducing traditional games as well as learning English for children or English for Young Learners (EYL).

Some of the areas visited were Saradan District, which was Sugihwaras Village and Klumutan Village. While in Caruban District was Glonggong and Warurejo Villages. In Klumutan, the village closest to the city of this sub-district, although often affected by rain, this time the flood became the worst. KaCa cars also made it one of the points of aid.

Not alone, the KaCa Car Team collaborated with the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) and the Muhammadiyah Institute of Zakat and Sadaqah (Lazismu) Caruban. In addition to sharing happiness through EYL games and learning, Mobil KaCa also provided assistance in the form of stationery and school supplies distributed to flood-affected schools.

UMM Head of Public Relations and Protocol Dr. Joko Susilo, S.Sos. M.Si also took part in the field by making a simple quiz. He asked a number of simple questions about elementary school lessons and then distributed a number of prizes. He said the UMM KaCa Car beside having an intellectual mission through the literacy movement also carried out a humanitarian mission.

Joko continued, the presence of the KaCa Car in the community, as a manifestation of UMM's dedication to the community. Mainly was the UMM tagline affirmation, "From Muhammadiyah to the Nation". "In addition to spreading the spirit of literacy, Mobil KaCa UMM also carried out a humanitarian mission that is realized by visiting various special regions, as we do now," he said.

Lili Wahyuningsih, Head of Warurejo Elementary School, Saradan Subdistrict, Madiun Regency, thanked for the assistance given to her school students. "Thank you to UMM for relieving parents with a variety of assistance, both in the form of stationery and school supplies that we received, especially in the sixth grade which will soon be in junior high school," she said.
