The helipad of Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) was filled with supporters of the Indonesian national team U-23 on April 29. This was due to UMM organizing a free screening event for the U-23 Asian Cup semifinal match between Indonesia and Uzbekistan. Interestingly, an 8x4 meter video screen was set up to indulge the supporters. Not only did they enjoy the screening, but the audience also had the chance to win attractive prizes prepared by the screening committee.
Regarding the event, the Head of Public Relations at UMM, M. Isnaini, M.Pd., stated that this was UMM's way of facilitating the academic community and students who wanted to support the national team in the U-23 Asian Cup semifinal. The helipad was chosen as the location due to the high enthusiasm of Indonesian society in supporting the national team in the championship.

"We carry out this agenda free of charge. Both the academic community and the public can participate and watch together," he emphasized.
Furthermore, he also regarded public support as one of the ways citizens show their love for the country. Often, this support serves as additional energy for the players during the match, even if they are not seen in the stadium. Moreover, football is a favorite sport for the majority of Indonesians.
"One of the reasons why many people increasingly support the national team in this AFC championship is the opportunity to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics. If we finish first, second, or third, Indonesia will advance to the Olympics. However, if we finish fourth, we will have to compete in the playoff round against representatives from other continents," explained Krisna.
The exciting of screening also caught the attention of one of the viewers, Devi Widiastuti. Although she rarely attends screenings, she feels that watching football matches together has its own excitement, especially when it comes to the Indonesian national team matches. Devi appreciates UMM for providing a venue to enjoy the match on a large screen. Additionally, there were interesting prize-winning games. According to her, football is not only monopolized by men; women can also participate, both as spectators and players.
"Many people say that women are only interested in watching football because of the players' handsome faces. But actually, we sincerely support the Indonesian national team's struggle in various championships. Hopefully, Indonesia can achieve the best results and qualify for the Paris Olympics. Win or lose, we will always support the Indonesian national team," she concluded. (wil/fajr)
