Postgraduate student (PPs) registration at University of Muhammadiyah Malang had already opened since the end of last year and would be closed on January 12, 2017. In UMM, the registration of master and doctoral degree open twice, which were in first and even semester. The registration will be reopened on April to August on odd semester.
First Vice Director of Postgraduate program of UMM, Ahsanul In’am Ph.D stated that, UMM has 11 study programs for master degree and 3 study programs for doctoral degree. In’am said that all study programs of master program are open except profession study and Science of Psychology. Those two programs will be opened on May, 2017.
Master programs at UMM are Master of Management, Master of Sociology, Master of Islamic Studies, Master of Agribusiness, Master of Policy and Development of Education, Master of Law, Master of Psychology, Master of Professional Psychologist, Master of Science in Psychology, Mater of Mathematics, Master of English Education, Master of Indonesian Language and Literature.
UMM also has double degree programs, which are Master of Science in Psychology and Professional Psychologist, and Master of Management and Professional Accountant. Meanwhile, Doctoral programs include Doctor of Social and Political Science, Doctor of Islamic Education, and Doctor of Agricultural Science.
The registration could be done trough online by opening pmb.umm.ac.id, so people who come from other provinces can apply and no need to go to Malang. After registering trough online, the new students have to send the documents asked. All requirements can be downloaded on website pascasarjana.umm.ac.id
PPs UMM is very selective in selecting new students. In’am said, “In this second semester, PPs UMM only opens two classes for every study program”. The registration will be closed on January 12, 2017. Next, new students will have an admission test on January 14, 2017 and the result will be announced on January 18, 2017.
To support teaching and learning process for postgraduate students, UMM builds 10-floor- new building (GKB 4) which is located at Jl.Raya Tlogomas. In’am said, “Perhaps, teaching and learning process will be done in GKB 4 if the building is finished to build”.
In'am explained that, the lecture in the second semester of 2017 will be focused on articles and academic journals writing. “All tasks will be focused on writing articles and indexed international journals”. (PR UMM)
