In the middle of intolerance issues that endanger Diversity, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) leading the fight against the root of these issues. Running warmly, the Gathering and Breaking the Fast with Indonesian Chinese Association (INTI) Malang and Indonesian Chinese Islamic Association (PITI) becomes extra energy for UMM to build up strength in the middle of the diversity of Indonesia.
In this Ramadhan month 1440 H nuance, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) hold an event in order to enliven this Ramadhan month. This time, UMM hold a gathering and breaking the fast together with various Chinese ethnic in Malang (26/5). This event was held in the 9th floor of GKB IV was attended by Malang Deputy Mayor Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko.
Besides attended by Malang Deputy Mayor, this event was also attended byProf. Drs. H. Abdul Malik Fadjar, M.Sc., as the UMM Daily Advisory Agency and Member of the Presidential Advisory Agency, Widodo Harsono as the representative from the Indonesian Chinese Islamic Union (PITI).The event was started with some greetings that emphasizing the value of tolerance.

In his greetings, Malik Fadjar said that every people surely have a difference. "Indonesia has a community with different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.Therefore, we must have mutual respect and care for each other so that our diversity is maintained and can be transformed into a strength for the nation," said the former UMM Rector for the 1983 - 2000 period.
Widodo Harsono also explained that he had collaborated with UMM for 36 years. He also sharesthe secret of being able to establish a long-standing partnership with UMM. "The secret is mutual respect, mutual tolerance and always maintaining cohesiveness," he said. In addition, Harsono also invited allofsociety to preserveunity. (joh)
