Tennis Club University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is one of tennis courts for lecturers and staffs that is now more respected. UMM Tennis is known through local tournament in Malang, East Java, and nationally. Tennis UMM competed with Tennis University of Muhammadiyah Solo (UMS) on Saturday morning (3/2). Both teams came with 12 couple players. They were welcomed by Rector UMM Fauzan who is also the Chairman of Tennis UMM for lecturers and staffs. Fauzan conveyed that hospitality cannot only be done by visiting, but also holding sport games like tennis.
Fauzan said, “This is a friendship competition. We joke, support each other, and learn techniques to maintain the hospitality”.
The UMS team is commanded by Vice Rector II Sardjito. He said that he is happy to be welcomed at UMM in this sparring partner event. He said, “Lose or win is not a matter because the purpose of this event is to strengthen brotherhood among us”.
The competition went very exciting and fun. The audiences gave applause whenever there was a winning smash. Fauzan and Santoso won over Sadjito and Nur by score 8-2. Tim Fauzan and Santoso finished the match.
10 couple players UMM of 13 won the match because they played beautifully and festive which made the audiences entertained. After the match, UMS team was regaled by eating together with East Java cuisine while being friendly among fellow tennis players. (lus)
