Muhammadiyah continued to implement the development of education. Lately, The Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof. KH. Haedar Nashir, M.Si., officially inaugurated the Abdul Malik Fajar Boarding School (AMF IBS) on 21st February in Kepuharjo, Malang. The Chairman of the Badan Pembina Harian (BPH) and Coordinator of the Minister for Human Development and Culture, Prof. Dr. Muhadir Effendy, MAP, also attended the inauguration.
In his speech, Haedar conveyed his gratefulness to the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), who handed over the building to Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah (PWM) East Java and will be managed as AMF IBS. The use of Abdul Malik Fadjar's name as the identity of the boarding school is a way to exemplify the value of struggle, intelligence, and devotion of a national teacher.

"He is a figure that I look up to. We all know his work, struggles, and contributions. His contribution is not only for education in Muhammadiyah but also for national education. It includes his efforts to pioneer the establishment of UMM to become an international standard university as it is now," he said.
Haedar also quoted a hadith about three good deeds that will not disconnected until the end of life. According to him, this is very relevant if it is brought up regarding Malik Fadjar's struggle. "Almsgiving, the prayers of pious children, and useful knowledge. These three practices will not break up until the end of life, which is very suitable for the late Abdul Malik Fadjar," he said.
It is also how Muhammadiyah contributes to achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045. According to Haedar, to accomplish it requires superior human resources, both in terms of religion, Pancasila, globally, and mastering technology. Thus, Indonesian human resources can compete internationally.

The AMF IBS was initiated by Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., who is the rector of UMM for the 2016-2024 term. Some of the advantages provided are the concept of living language, living Quran and sunnah, and living learning. In their daily lives, students will use English and Arabic, practice the Quran, and learn with nature.
The international boarding school on Jalan Pangestu, Telasih Hamlet, Kepuharjo Village, Karangploso Malang, also has comprehensive and supportive facilities. For example, a representative dormitory, sports and arts centre, information technology laboratory, clean and green environment, etc. The boarding school, which stands on an area of 1.1 hectares, also aims to prepare prospective leaders with a global outlook through its various excellent programs.
On the other hand, Muhadjir emphasized that UMM has taken significant steps in the development of Muhammadiyah. It was proven by granting this boarding school building to PWM East Java. He hoped that this step could be followed by other Amal Usaha Muhammadiyah (AUM).
"Therefore, do not wait to get something from Muhammadiyah. But you can also contribute directly, like UMM. Hopefully, this international boarding school will be able to provide many and broad benefits, "he said. (wil/put)
