The Teacher Professional Education Department (PPG) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Monday (15/4), graduated 351 certified teachers. This period I 2019 was the Pre-Position program that consisted of 97 people and the In-position program that consisted of 254 people. They were distributed in four Departments which was in PGSD 189 people, Indonesian Language and Literature 25 people, English 76 people, and Mathematics 61 people.
The giving of the title of the professional teacher was delivered in the graduation and giving of educator certificates with the theme "Facing of Century Teacher Professionalism in XXI in the Progressing Education Frame". Organized by the UMM PPG Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) which took place at UMM Dome Theater on Monday (4/15) morning. This event was witnessed by the academic community of FKIP UMM.
In Period 1, this PPG had a formal legal statute from Kemenristek Dikti No. 710/1/2018 with the authority of 6 fields of study. It Included PGSD, Mathematics, Biology, Indonesian Language, English, and Civic Law. From the six Department, four of them had been assigned by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Kemenristek Dikti to organize PPG. Two other departments only needed to complete a number of conditions.

The implementation of this PPG was appropriate with the Constitution No 14 of 2005 that became a professional teacher must take the level of education at PPG. "Therefore, now the teacher had gone up from the ordinary teacher to become professional teachers by graduating from PPG UMM," said Dr. Sudiran, M. Hum as Vice Dean I of FKIP UMM in front of UMM Rector, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd.
Continued by Sudiran, being a teacher was not enough just to master 7M which was teaching, guiding, fostering, directing, training, assessing and evaluating, but it must balance the requirements of becoming a teacher in the Industrial 4.0 era. Because, continued Sudiran, teachers will compete with the global community, and can only be gotten through mastery of communication technology.

Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd in his speech said that professional teachers must have at least 2 provisions which were the Philosophy of Education and Educational Psychology. "Because you are dealing with humans and our job is to change the mindset or mindset of students to become leaders of opinion, leader of change or a leader who puts forward ideas and exemplary," he said.
"Because of it, we congratulate to the PPG participants who have fought until finally graduating today. Once again congratulations, "concluded Dr. Hari Sunaryo, M.Sc as the Secretary of the PPG Department in front of PPG participants with coverage of areas of origin from East Java, Central Java, West Java, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, to Anambas Regency, Riau Islands.
