ATTENDANCE OF RI President, Joko Widodo, at University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in Ramadhan Study of Pimpinan Wilayah of Muhammadiyah (PWM) East Java, on Saturday (3/6), was assessed very relevant with UMM image as national campus by UMM Rector, Fauzan.

At this moment, President Jokowi was inagurated as UMM honorary family which is marked by the embedding of "Jas Merah" alma mater of UMM by the Chairman of Badan Pembina of UMM, Abdul Malik Fadjar. The presence of Jokowi in coinciding with Pancasila Week was a momentum for UMM to strengthen UMM tagline that is very powerful nationality, namely "Jas Merah Kampus Putih".

Moreover, for Fauzan, the President's presence was very contextual considering that as Jokowi said Pancasila Week was attempted to strengthen and reintroduce the foundations of Pancasila, and to attract young people to Pancasila, so that all components of the nation could apply its values in life of nation.

"Because one of the goals is young people, the strengthening of Pancasila by the President can be directly felt by Muhammadiyah youth in East Java and UMM students with ethnic, tribal, even religious background. This is important, because through young people, efforts to revitalize the spirit of Pancasila become easier and faster," said Fauzan.

Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nasir, who conveyed the lesson of Ramadan, said that one of the proof of UMM's nationality was to grant two people to the nation. "Mr. Malik Fadjar and Pak Muhadjir Effendy are the two figures granted by UMM to the nation," Haedar said.

In addition, the figures who also attended were Mendikbud Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Syaifuddin, Member of the Advisory Council of President Abdul Malik Fadjar, Chairman of MUI Advisory Council who was also former Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Din Syamsuddin, Chief of Presidency Staff Teten Masduki, PWM East Java M Saad Ibrahim, Malang Mayor Mochamad Anton, and so on.
