Agribusiness Department (Prodi) Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (FPP) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) became the Co-Hosting Organizations in the grand event of the 6th Go Green Summit & Awareness on Climate Change in Bali, next March. "We were asked directly when participating the previous summit agenda in Singapore," said Rahayu Relawati, Dr. Ir., MM, Lecturer in Agribusiness Study Program.
The seminar entitled "Socio-economic Scenarios and Environmental Consequences of Human Activities Causing Climate Change" will take place on March 20-21, 2020. Rahayu revealed that UMM would review climate change from the socio-economic aspects of agriculture and agribusiness. "We want to contribute to the results of research that climate change can have an impact on one of them from export competition," she said.
According to the lecturer who will also be the speaker at this international event, climate change cannot be personally controlled. "The research that will be presented by UMM will be related to plastic," Rahayu said.

Plastic, she continued, has an extremely bad effect on environmental pollution. Therefore, Rahayu has recently been interested in observing consumer behavior in minimizing the use of plastics that are included in mitigation measures or efforts to reduce risk.
From an Agribusiness perspective, the term is also known as adaptation. This is a human effort to deal with extreme climate change. For example, related to cropping patterns and shifting planting time. When I went down the field, in fact there was also replacing commodities. In the past, rice later changed to other plants.
This is because of extreme changes in climate. According to Rahayu, like it or not, humans must adapt to all the changes that exist today. "The climate has changed greatly," she said.

Awareness of protecting the environment must be owned by all elements of society. Rahayu, in her research also emphasized the aspect of religiosity. "We advise the preachers when giving lectures not only to discuss ubudiyah (worship), but also related to amaliyah. One of them is how important it is to protect the environment as a gift from God that must be preserved," she said.
In addition, the organizing organization BioLEAGUES Worldwide has also collaborated with Scopus. This grand event is a golden opportunity for lecturers who want their journal entry in the journal Scopus with reputation. The final goal of this seminar is not only proceeding, but also aimed at getting into Scopus. (joh)
