Science Government Study Program Maintains A Accreditation

The happy news came from one of the study programs at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). After the previous Indonesian Language and Literature study program successfully obtained A Accreditation, recently Science Government (IP) also maintained its accreditation with the predicate A from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT).

"The maintenance of this accreditation is supported by efforts to improve the quality of IP UMM, visionary development plans, apply the vision, mission, objectives, strategy, to be used as a motivation to improve the quality of study program that is competitive, credible and qualified," said Head of Head of IP UMM, Hevi Kurnia Hardini, MA.Gov.

Added Hevi, the efforts to increase and develop this study program was not only supported by internal activities, but also external activities outside the campus. Also, supported by all academic community in the study program, either by lecturers or students. The form of this support was realized in the dedication and technical guidance (Bimtek) conducted by lecturers in various government agencies and community groups.

"While the form of student activities conducted outside the campus is the realization of student gait in the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) Association of Municipal Governments throughout Indonesia (APEKSI) event last July, and various student organizations," she said.

Admittedly, the quality assurance of IP UMM also helped to evaluate performance. With the evaluation, IP UMM strived to improve its quality so that when there is assessment of accreditation or others is not felt a significant constraint.

"Quality Assurance actually prepares the study program internally, so it is ready to advance in the external audit stage or field assessment. The preparation of this study program document aims to carry out reaccreditation and to maintain A accreditation," she said.

In the future, IP UMM will also boost the expansion of international cooperation that has been started before. In addition, as a form of support to the internationalization program of UMM, IP UMM students also encourage their students to take a foreign language course in order to easily access various scholarship and internship offer.

"In addition to international cooperation for lecturers and students, the next is to expand the network of research internship programs. Because this program is enough to give a very significant point. Therefore, we have a program to put students in a structured research program, in some ministries and government agencies in East Java, and of course Malang Raya," she said. (ard)
