The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) opens a flagship program for the Center of Excellence (CoE) for government and political analysts in the public and private sectors to develop students' abilities and skills. The program designed for the Department of Government Science has three superior classes and is opened in stages.

The Head of the Governmental Science Department, Muhammad Kamil, S.IP., MA., explained that this program would study technology governance in information systems and asset management. The class itself will be divided into three classes: the village government management class, the regional government management class, and the junior parliamentary class.

"We see that some regions do not have asset data that is systematically arranged. There are even some areas that still manage it manually. Therefore, we use technology to equip students with asset processing and information processing skills. In the teaching process, we will also use the Village Information System (Sisterdes) application and also the Village Development Electronic Design Application (Pernikdesa)," said the lecturer from Bondowoso.

Kamil explained that the Governmental Science Department has collaborated with several regions such as Donomulyo District, Tlogomas District, and five villages in Magetan Regency. The Government Science Study Program also collaborates with the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Directorate General of Village Government Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"The learning that we hold is not only intended for UMM students but also for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) whose regions have partnered with us. We carry out this center of excellence program for one month and a half to two months with 16 meetings," Kamil added.

The Governmental Science lecturer also said that in addition to getting a certificate of expertise, students could also convert this program to 20 Semester Credit Units (SKS) that have been prepared. This program activity will also be centered in the UMM Government Science laboratory, with various facilities.

"Our goal in making the program is to build dynamic governance. Therefore, we hope that with this CoE, students will be easier to adapt to the changes that will occur in a government. In addition, we from the study program also hope that students will understand the theory and be able to directly practice what they get in lectures to contribute to government," he said.
