The University of Muhammadiyah Malang is always consistent in becoming the best university. Recently, its major, Government Science, maintained its superior accreditation. BAN-PT has issued the accolade since 8 February 2023, and it is valid until the upcoming 2028.
The Head of the Department, Muhammad Kamil, S. IP., M. A., delivered that from 2020, the major proposed the Conversion Supplement Instrument of accreditation rating, which formerly was an A, becomes superior accreditation until 2022. Then, in 2023, the department redoes the accreditation program and successfully maintains the prime predicate.
"In total, the Government Science of UMM has earned the A accreditation and achieved excellence respectively twice. It proves how good the quality we serve both from the service or educational process," said the Head of the Study Program.
Kamil - his nickname - said that all achievements were not obtained suddenly but naturally from hard work. It began with a 4-year great design in preparing data and doing a consistent curriculum so that alumni could work based on their graduate profiles. Also, the same applies to improving the study program service and management and highlighting international activities.
"One of the things which makes us superior is the atmosphere of international academics. We have six international achievements, eight international studies, six international community services, and 23 international students," expressed Kamil.
He thinks applying the Three Pillars of Universities (Translated: Tri Dharma) is the most crucial thing for this achievement. Primarily, until now, the Government Science of UMM has succeeded in obtaining the first rank as a public and private campus government study program.
"This success is inseparable from the support of university and faculty leaders and the entire team of the study program who successfully encouraged each other until reaching this point. Also, the alumni and dozens of partnerships have supported during the accreditation process," said the Head of the Government Science Major.
Next, the Government Science of UMM will realize international recognition, having been made jointly with the superior accreditation by 2022. The document administration and completion have been processed. Then, next month, the major will send them to the FIBAA, located in Germany, which manages the international accreditation process.
"We expect the Government Science of UMM in 2023 to have already got the international accreditation from the FIBAA. Of course, the most important thing from this process is to enhance the department's quality of service. Hence, this accreditation actually is the bonus from our best effort in improving the quality service in the Three Pillars of Universities," expressed the Head of the Government Science.

On the other hand, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UMM, Prof. Muslimin Machmud, said that this achievement is a pride. He believes that good results come from superb and long effort too.
