Various issues concerning the nation's life in Indonesia need to be approached with positive change, particularly in the aspect of law. Dr. Trisno Raharjo, S.H., M.Hum., the Chair of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah's Law and Human Rights Council (MHH), emphasized it during the National Work Meeting of MHH held at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on November 10. The agenda also featured legal experts discussing and offering solutions.
Further, Trisno stated that there are several legal deviations in Indonesia, especially related to human rights (HAM). One of the approaches suggested is educating Muhammadiyah cadres about the law. This step is expected to help resolve issues at various levels, from the grassroots to regional or even national levels.

"As a result, problems in different areas can be independently addressed without direct intervention from the central authority. The central leadership will then assist in supervision and provide facilities to solve these issues. Hopefully, through this forum, there will be substantive discussions leading to finding solutions to legal problems," he said.
Dr. H. M. Busyro Muqoddas, SH., M.Hum., also presented at the event to discuss "Building a Civilized Law and Democracy, Upholding Justice for Progress." He explained that Muhammadiyah, established 112 years ago, follows a concept known as Matan Kepribadian.
"This concept shapes the independent attitudes and concepts among Muhammadiyah members in their lives," he stated.

This concept is manifested through various Muhammadiyah business units operating in the social, educational, and healthcare sectors. For example, UMM, with its diverse business units, stands as one of Muhammadiyah's prides. This signifies that Muhammadiyah has implemented this concept for the nation's progress.
"This forum can serve as a foundation for formulating numerous solutions. In addition, it can also be utilized as a platform for collaboration to build a better nation," he emphasized.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Prof. Dr. Sidik Sunaryo, S.H., M.Si., M.Hum., the Vice Rector IV of UMM. He mentioned that 'paper' has become an essential aspect of state management, often sharper than a sword or a dagger. However, he stressed that paper doesn’t equate to quality, integrity, or morality.
"These papers can take the form of laws, government regulations, Constitutional Court decisions, court verdicts, and more. We must ensure that these papers do not transform into Kebo Ijo's keris (a mythical green buffalo's dagger) and have negative effects on the nation. Thus, Muhammadiyah, along with its practitioners and experts, must be at the forefront to voice and fight for it," he concluded. (*faq/wil)
