Ananto Kusuma Seta attended a discussion about the plan of establishment of Vocational Education Institute with the deans of UMM |
Vocational Education continuously prepares the needs of human resources that have special skills to fulfill the need of industrial companies. It is considered that the people who are graduated from Vocational Education are more skilled both in practice and theories. This is the reason why University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is preparing to design Vocational Education Institution. Ananto Kusuma Seta who is the designer of Cocational Education, explained that Indonesia needs human resources in some field that must have skills qualification.
Ananto who is also an Expert Staff in the field of Innovation and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia said, “Today, the industrial reformation requires many things for human resources, such as qualification in special skill”.
Vocational education prepares human resources that are really suitable for industrial companies. Moreover, human resources are educated through vocational education that has already fulfilled the needs of industrial skills such as technique, management, and practice.
Ananto said, “The vocational graduates are skilled and are needed to fulfill the need of the society”.
Rector of UMM, Fauzan, stated that the plan of establishing vocational education at UMM is as a follow up of some study programs that have made cooperation. Currently, the cooperation program is still in the form of practice which is aimed to increase skills of students according to their expertise. Fauzan said, “The plan of the establishment of Vocational education is as the follow up of cooperation to increase students’ skills”.
Meanwhile, Vocational Education Institute that will be established by UMM is the first vocational education owned by private university in East Java. (lus)
