No wonder UMM, The White Campus, was chosen to host the 13th season of Indonesian Idol auditions in Malang. It was not only for those who lived in Malang, there were a number of participants who were willing to go all the way to Malang to take part in this audition.

Eka, his nickname, also appreciated UMM as an audition location that fully supported the agenda, according to him, the various available facilities made it easier for participants to participate and made the judges more comfortable in finding the best talent in Malang. “The flow is smooth, the participants are not in heat either. Usually, Indonesian Idol auditions are held in fields and halls so that the participants often suffer from the heat under the hot sun. Moreover, Malang has a cool climate, so it is more comfortable,” he added.
UMM was chosen as the audition location for Malang due to its adequate and good facilities. For example, a large parking lot, a large hall, and a very adequate building. UMM is also considered a large campus, making it easier for participants to go to the audition location. “We hope that this audition process can get Malang's best talents who can shine in the future,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, one of the participants, Muhammad Gilbran, said that his participation was encouraged by family and friends. In addition, he also wanted to experience participating in a talent search competition like Indonesian Idol.
“At first, I didn't realize that I could sing well. It was only when I was in junior high school that my art teacher encouraged me to start singing, and Alhamdulillah, from there, I was able to perform in various events,” he said.
The UMM international relations student also said that his singing skills were also closely related to his activity in the Gita Surya UMM choir. From there, he can understand various techniques in singing. In addition, he tried to learn by himself through Youtube videos.
“Alhamdulillah, I passed the first stage and continued to the video booth stage. Hopefully I can pass again and participate in the next process in Jakarta. I also want to be serious in the world of music, and one of them is competing in the Indonesan Idol event,” he concluded. (wil/put)
