SPORT, art and reasoning annual competition with the title 'Rector Cup 2017' University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was successful. Officially, the UMM Rector Fauzan closed the prestigious event among faculties at Hall UMM Dome on Friday, April 28.
The Committee officially announced the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) as the winner. Followed by the Faculty of Engineering (FT) as the second winner, and the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (FPP) as the third winner. Not only that, the committee also gave an appreciation to UKM as the organizer of those activites. Basketball UKM came out as the first best organizer, followed by UMM Indonesia Karate-Do (Inkado) and the UMM Student Regiment (Menwa).
The Rector Cup 2017 UMM chairman Drs Wiyono MM stated that many things have been achieved in the short term during a two-month competition among faculties. All students, whether they were incorporated in the Student Activity Unit (UKM) as the executors or delegates from each faculty got many lessons such as managing finance and cohesiveness. "Everything that happens during this event is simply made to provide experiences and lessons in order to increase student skills," Wiyono said.
The theme that carried, Wiyono continued, can be realized by all students who follow this year race. All participants have been galvanized and compete positively in this race. By providing a broad space for student expression, the university could dig both talents and interests, which was buried within students. "In short term, the follow up of rector cup is to include the winners in the Student Sports Week (Pomda)of East Java," he said.
On the same occasion, Fauzan in his closing speech stated that not only rector cup as a self actualization. However, UMM still provide a lot of space for self-actualization.
