On August 17th, the Helipad of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was filled with thousands of participants in a ceremonial event to commemorate the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Interestingly, they were lecturers, employees, and students of the white campus wearing various costumes. Starting from regional traditional clothes, culture, and profession.
Regarding this matter, UMM Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si., explained that this is also one of the efforts to realize the mission of strengthening national values. The diversity of cultures and traditions in Indonesia is very diverse, all united in Bhineka Tunggal Ika.

Meanwhile, Abdurrohman Muzakki M.Pd., the coordinator of the implementation of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, UMM, said that it turned out that the process of conducting the independence ceremony by UMM was simultaneously held in two different locations, first at Campus 3 UMM and also at Pujon Hill UMM. There were also several awards for the best Center of Excellence (CoE) program.
In addition to various traditional outfits, the most interesting part of the event was the variety of regional food. A series of street vendors around the campus were invited and sold their products to the ceremonial participants. There are those who serve pecel, soto, rawon, bakso, and so on.
