As a public service agency, hospitals must have sufficient feasibility to serve public health. In Indonesia, the feasibility level is tested by the Hospital Accreditation Commission (KARS) and must be followed by every hospital. After that, every hospital will be given the level of accreditation according to the service quality to patients.

University of Muhammadiyah Malang Hospital (RS UMM) is accredited 5 star hospital or plenary which is the highest level of KARS. The Chaiman of UMM Hospital, dr.Nur Chumairoh, conveyed that it is not easy to achieve this level. UMM Hospital has been through 15 steps of test given by KARS and passed it with a very satisfying result. Dr.Nur said that this plenary proves that UMM Hospital is excellent in serving the patients. She said, “UMM Hospital is proved as a very decent hospital and has been standardized by government to give best service to the patients and visitors”. Although UMM Hospital is categorized as a type C hospital, but its facilities and the supporting tools owned by UMM Hospital almost the same as type B Hospital.

dr.Nur said, “in the future, we will be holding several medical sub-specialization in order to make UMM Hospital becomes a Type B hospital”.
