Continuing to spread benefits during the month of Ramadan, Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) visited Kampung Jodipan together with Rayz Hotel UMM and conducted suhoor with the residents. The UMM White Campus team invited residents to have suhoor together, live cooking by a four-star hotel Rayz chef, storytelling of fable, and creating TikTok content. The suhoor on the road UMM activities were held on March 15, 2024.
Regarding the activity, Parin, as the Chairman of the RW (neighbourhood association) of Kampung Jodipan, said that UMM's visits are always eagerly awaited by the residents. The extraordinary and interesting activities make the residents always anticipate the arrival of the White Campus team. "We are always surprised by UMM several times. Even now, the residents are given a menu of four-star hotel food from UMM. Of course, the residents here rarely get such a treat," he explained.
The series of suhoor activities became an important moment for the people of Kampung Jodipan because they could gather with neighbours and eat together. Chef Sobari Abdul, who cooked the special menu this time, also emphasized that the dishes he cooked were made wholeheartedly. The dishes presented are also favourites at the Rayz Hotel.

The live cooking he did successfully attracted a lot of attention from mothers and children. He displayed fire tricks and several cooking attractions. This immediately amazed the residents, including about the taste and presentation of the food.
In addition, the children who participated also felt happy because of the storytelling session. With puppet props and engaging delivery, it made it easier for children to understand the messages conveyed. This was also appreciated by the lively attending residents.
"Alhamdulillah, UMM's activities here every year are very exciting. There is always something unique given. The residents also like the grilled chicken dishes ala Rayz. Plus, with games and folk tales with hand puppets," said Rini, one of the residents.
Finally, UMM's digital team also didn't forget to invite residents to create content. This is a way to welcome Ramadan with cheerfulness and happiness. With that, various acts of worship can be done more easily and provide many benefits. Interestingly, the residents of Jodipan also easily understand various TikTok movements because they often spend time on the application.

On the other hand, UMM Rector Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si. said that this is UMM's way of spreading benefits. According to him, in performing Ramadan worship, every person must be able to enter the public sphere to realize social and environmental piety.
"Hopefully what has been done can provide benefits and impressions for the residents. This activity will continue to be held at various points in the Malang area with different concepts. Starting from breaking the fast with street artists, suhoor in thematic villages, and barbecue suhoor with the disabled community," he concluded. (ri/wil/fajr)
