Visit Caruban, UMM's " Mobil KaCa" for Fun and Mass Circumcision

University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) visited Caruban and shared the joy through the Mobil Kamis Membaca (KaCa) activity on Wednesday (13/7). Not only providing reading material and inviting children to play games, but UMM also provided free medical treatment, health consultation, and mass circumcision for Caruban residents in collaboration with the UMM General Hospital.

One of the KaCa Mobil UMM team, Maharina Novi, M.Ikom. said that this event was a routine agenda for the White Campus. Previously, they also visited various cities and regencies such as Blitar, Kediri, Trenggalek, and others. It is also an effort to educate and entertain children.

"There are almost 600 books that can be read—starting from fairy tales, picture stories, novels, and even Islam. We hope that this KaCa car's arrival can increase the interest and reading literacy of the younger generation. The prepared games also aim to build mentality and foster cooperation," he said.

On the other hand, the head of the health team at UMM Hospital, dr. Wildan Firmansyah said that a team already helped residents with health consultations. Likewise, with the free medical treatment provided to more than 150 residents.

Interestingly, UMM Hospital also held free mass circumcision for Caruban children. Dozens of children attended and were circumcised for free. Wildan emphasized that this agenda was one of Muhammadiyah's ways of preaching.

"Alhamdulillah, our intentions are well received by the community. Many came and asked about health, even parents who bring their sons to do free circumcision. Everything is going well, and hopefully, it can provide good benefits for others," he concluded.

Residents showed high enthusiasm. One of them Said Abdullah, who brought his son for circumcision. According to him, this activity is beneficial considering the cost of circumcision, which now reaches 800 thousand to one million rupiahs. He felt helped by the mass circumcision held by UMM.

“I also had time to chat with other parents. They welcome useful events like this. Maybe this can also be done in other locations, “said Said.

The arrival of the UMM team to Caruban, Madiun was also one of a series of activities to inaugurate the Caruban Muhammadiyah Islamic School (MIM) by the General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dr. Haedar Nasir, M.Si. on Thursday (14/7). Also present were the coordinating minister for Human Development and Culture, as well as Muhammadiyah administrators in East Java, Madiun, and several branches. (cdr/wil)
