The 2nd National Muhammadiyah Volunteer Jamboree at University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM)is held on 1-4 December 2017 entitled “Merge Togetherness, Increase Reliability”. Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) conduct medical chek up for people in Kedung Kandang Bumiayu, Malang.
This activity was held in Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten (ABA) on 15 to 30 November 2017. MDMC cooperated with Aisyiyah Islamic Hospital of Malang (RSI Aisyiyah). The Head of MDMC, Budi Setiawan, said that MDMC asks people who live around the location of Jamboree to take good care of their health becaus it is a difficult area for health acces. Budi said, “ Health check up is a form of shared utility in the community and the momentum of this jamboree is not only owned by volunteers but belongs to all the people”.
Herman Setiawan, volunteer of Muhammadiyah Malang stated that RSI Aisyiyah has fully participated in jamboree activities. In this case,MDMC synergizeswith RSI Aisyiah to fulfill the needs of public health. He said, “ Firstly, we do dcreening to people. Then, if we think they need further action, we suggest them to go to RSI Aisyiyah Malang”. (lus)
