Students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) will definitely get three important competencies. It was confirmed directly by UMM Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, SE, M.Si., in front of thousands of new student parents in 2024 at the UMM Dome last August 3rd. The agenda is a gathering of UMM leaders with the parents of new students for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Furthermore, Nazar explained that the three competencies include professional competence, academic competence, and entrepreneurship competence. These three competencies will be the main provision for UMM students as human resources (HR) who are ready to welcome the future and become the person they aspire to be.

"UMM will not necessarily demand your children to get these three competencies without providing the best facilities and programs. Of course, we have prepared professional educators and the best programs. One of them is the Center of Excellence (CoE) as a place to sharpen their interests and talents," he explained.
The CoE is a large frame designed to meet the needs of superior human resources, especially to prepare for the Golden Indonesia 2045. Currently, there are more than 50 study program-based CoEs in collaboration with hundreds of domestic and foreign institutions.
The same thing was conveyed by the Secretary of the UMM Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. According to him, the event is the beginning to strengthen togetherness between UMM leaders and student parents. He emphasized that the White Campus is ready to provide certainty to all student parents. The certainty is a commitment and responsibility of UMM, which has received the mandate as a place to study for the children of the parents.

"The classic question often asked by student parents is when can my child graduate? And often answered with the phrase 'depending on the child'. That is an irresponsible answer. However, UMM ensures that the sons and daughters of all parents must graduate on time for 3.5 to 4 years, must be independent, and must work," he said.
Fauzan also stated that the white campus has various methods for graduating its students. It is intended to appreciate all the interests, talents, and achievements made while being part of Jaket Merah. "Many campuses have a lot of entry mechanisms, but when you want to graduate, you can only use a thesis. Fortunately, at UMM, these students can graduate without a thesis. One example is with achievements, both academic and non-academic. We make sure that all student achievements are appreciated, "he said.
Meanwhile, one of the guardians of UMM students, Aning Ida Uswiati, confirmed all statements by the White Campus leadership. It is proven by her two children, who are currently successful in achieving their respective goals. Her first child graduated in 2016 from UMM as the best graduate and has just completed studies at Georgetown University, Washington, DC, America. Meanwhile, her second child graduated in 2021 and is currently directly working at UMM.
"Thank you, UMM, for taking my children to achieve their dreams. Now I leave my third child at UMM again. I am very impressed with UMM's extensive and numerous collaborations, especially with foreign institutions. As evidenced by my child, who was able to get a djarum scholarship, an exchange program in Singapore, an internship in Thailand, a summer camp in China, and an internship at BUMN. Moreover, payments at UMM can be made in installments, and that makes it easier for student guardians," she concluded. (Faq/Wil/Put)
