Starting from an accident, Sintia Rahmah, one of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) students, has successfully won dozens of medals in the taekwondo sports championship. As she is known, Sintia revealed that she had studied taekwondo since the third grade of elementary school (SD). At that time, this Korean martial art was very famous and became extracurricular at his school.
"I am an active child, and I like sports. Before joining taekwondo, I had time to participate in soccer. But when martial art became more and more popular, everyone wanted to try the sport. Even my brother and sister also enrolled in taekwondo at their respective schools," said the student from Central Kalimantan.
Since then, Sintia began to take taekwondo seriously. She started to participate in various taekwondo competitions at the provincial, national and international levels. Especially when she was a student at UMM. Different information on the great competitions from UMM made him continue to participate in the championships one by one. She also often wins both as a team and individually. For example, the Bandung International E-Poomsae Tournament and the Online Indonesia International Biho President Cup, which she won this year.
This Law Faculty student also had the opportunity to share her injury experience when participating in a match. It was her first match as a student. She had to suffer a broken bone in the nose. Sintia had to accept it for a few weeks so that she could return to her usual activities.
"During the match, I met a higher opponent. As a result, I was hit in the nose. At that time, my nasal bone was crooked and needed a doctor's treatment for three weeks. Even now, my nose is still sensitive if it is exposed to something. But the experience did not stop me from taekwondo. For me, injury is one of the consequences of being an athlete," said the second of three children.
So far, Sintia has won 17 medals from various competitions. It ranges from silver, bronze, and gold medals at the provincial level to the international level. Recently, Sintia won a gold medal at the Bandung International E-Poomsae Tournament 2021.
Lastly, Sintia said that her parents' support means a lot to her. According to him, the two of them support makes him more enthusiastic in pursuing hobbies and things she likes. "I will try my best to improve and get medals in the next championships. Of course, with the prayers and support of my father and mother, it will make my path easier," she concluded. (apg/syi/wil)
