The competition was held by UKM of FM Radio New PLBS POLINES commemorating the 28th anniversary.

Before becoming a champion, UMM FM originally entered the top five finalists from a total of 56 teams from various universities in Indonesia. Two people who represent UMM FM were Aan Marenda and Nata Renaldi, both are students of department of Communication Studies UMM 2015. Nata said that, she and Aan must pass through a long process to finally become champion.

"The competition was held after the workshop of radio broadcasting on Saturday. After Dhuhur prayer, the competition begins until 10 pm. A very long time, tired, and have to wait as well," said Nata.

To reach the top five, they had to bring a program called 'Sore dalam Gembira’. The seven-minute program hosted by two broadcasters. Three senior announcers of radio in Semarang were trusted as the jury.

If the other team broadcasted while carrying a paper containing notes, UMM FM just put the points to be discussed. The rest, they broadcasted without reading notes. "We think that juries would be bored if they have to watch the announcer read. We broadcast like talking and chatting. Thus, our expression came out naturally. Perhaps this is one of plus value, "said Aan.

Passed the big five, the next day they had to follow the final round. In this round, the broadcast theme was determined by the committee, which was hangout. Proud to be Malang citizen as well as introducing UMM product, Nata and Aan agreed to discuss two famous hangout places in Malang, Colorful Village Jodipan and Mountains Tourism (Paralayang).
