In 2045, coinciding with 100 years of independence, Indonesia is predicted to become an advanced country. The key must be held and pursued to dominate the world economy. This was confirmed by the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia (R.I.), Dr. (H.C.) H. Zulkifli Hasan, S.E., M.M. at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), on May 13, 2023. Thousands of students attended the talk show entitled "Restoration of Superior Human Resources for Economic Independence" at the White Campus Dome.

Furthermore, he also appreciated the Center of Excellence (CoE) made by UMM for its contribution to producing excellent human resources. This shows UMM's earnest efforts to contribute to realizing the golden Indonesia 2045. "This CoE program is a great breakthrough and is run by a good campus too, namely, UMM," he added.

As he is often called, Zulkifli explained that the Covid-19 pandemic that disrupted the world economy has had a significant impact. Fortunately, Indonesia is a country that is still able to survive. It has a relatively high economic growth of 5.3%, with a relatively low inflation rate of 5.51%. This number is better than in other countries. This indeed becomes a substantial primary capital for the Indonesian economy," he said.

Based on data from the Kementerian Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional (Bappenas) (Trans: Ministry of National Development Planning) in 2019, Indonesia is ranked in fifth position in the world regarding Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Even in 2022, Indonesia set a new export record and a trade balance surplus of USD 54.53 billion.

"In 2045, the world will completely change. The world's economic power will be taken over by China, India and America, respectively. If it is according to the scheme, Indonesia will join the super power and be fourth in the world," he said.

Therefore, the government continues to cooperate and collaborate with various countries. One of them is with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He says the UAE is a modern country as a center for Islamic financial services. The UAE also reaches the halal market to 57 countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). That way, Indonesia's goal of becoming a Global Halal Lifestyle country will be easier to realize if it collaborates with the UAE.

"In other hand, human resources in Indonesia must continue to be trained and developed in order to have competitiveness. Indonesia has young people with a myriad of extraordinary talents and the great hope of the nation lies with young people. I think UMM CoE can participate in answering the availability of these human resources," hoped Zulkifli.

UMM Rector Dr. Fauzan M. Pd also delivered the same thing. According to him, Indonesia must be able to take advantage of the demographic bonus well until 2045 comes. Therefore, UMM created the CoE program as an answer to the anxiety of college graduates. Specifically to become a superior person who can compete in the world of work.

"There are 54 CoE programs that UMM has run. Not only for UMM students, but non-UMM and overseas students can also join. Even if they come from different majors with related CoE. CoE is a real solution to answer future challenges," said the Rector from Kediri.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the UMM Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) (Trans: Student Executive Board), Rifqi Al-Akbar, said that the world is facing a recession. However, youths should not consider it an obstacle but a new challenge, especially in creating various breakthroughs in Indonesia's economic development.

"And UMM has contributed significantly to helping young people and students. Starting from initiating CoE, building a Halal Center to strengthen the global halal style launched by the government, and so on. Of course youth is also a big base in realizing the golden Indonesia 2045," he concluded. (put/zak/wil)
