As an Islamic campus, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) strives for all academic community both lecturers and employees to have knowledge of Islam. Every Ramadhan, UMM holds Tadarus Ramadhan which is routinely conducted every week.
In addition to recharge the faith in the Ramadan, this event is also as an effort to keep in touch that had been interrupted in the busy time. UMM Rector, Fauzan, hopes that this activity will not only happen during Ramadhan, but also in other months.
"Tadarus Ramadhan can be conceptualized twice a week, and sustainable though not in Ramadan," he said in his speech.
In the event held on Saturday (2/6), Fauzan said that UMM sustainability is on the hands of the campus academic community. Therefore, Fauzan encouraged lecturers and employees to hold the moral responsibility and ideology of Muhammadiyah.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Tarjih Assembly and Tajdid PWM Jatim, Moh Nur Hakim, said that all efforts made by Muhammadiyah are the mission of Muhammadiyah. Similarly, UMM is one of Muhammadiyah's charitable efforts.
"Whatever our profession in Muhammadiyah, remember that we carry the mission of Muhammadiyah," he concluded. (ard)
