Recognition has once again been achieved by Muhammadiyah Malang University (UMM). At this time, five programs from the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science (FPP) UMM have successfully obtained international accreditation from the Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik (ASIIN). This achievement further strengthens FPP UMM's position in the global higher education arena, especially in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry, and food technology. The five accredited programs are Agrotechnology, Food Technology, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, and Aquaculture.
The accreditation assessment emphasizes several aspects. It begins with the curriculum implemented by each program, as well as the number of graduates and their employment rates, alongside the sustainability of various existing programs. The availability of adequate facilities for students is also a crucial factor.

Related to this, the Vice Dean I of FPP UMM, Ir. Henik Sukorini, M.P., Ph.D., expressed gratitude for the achievements of the faculty he leads. He noted that ASIIN accreditation is one of the international accreditations recognized by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti). This certainly brings pride to both UMM and FPP, serving as proof that the quality of education at FPP UMM meets international standards.
ASIIN is an accrediting agency from Germany that focuses on study programs in engineering, science, mathematics, biology, and agriculture. This accreditation will positively impact the career development of FPP UMM students in the future. With international accreditation, graduates will have stronger competitiveness in the global job market. Henik emphasized that this accreditation is merely the first step, and the faculty will continue to develop other international programs.
One of the ongoing international programs at FPP UMM is a summer course attended by dozens of foreign students. In this program, foreign students are taught directly by FPP UMM lecturers. They come from various countries and continents, including Japan, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, and others.
“We want to introduce more international students to the potential of Indonesian agriculture and animal husbandry. Therefore, we continue to open the door for international collaboration,” Henik added.
In addition to the summer course, FPP UMM will also invite five foreign lecturers to teach in regular programs. The presence of these foreign lecturers is expected to enrich students’ knowledge and perspectives, as well as enhance cross-cultural interaction on campus.
“After receiving ASIIN accreditation, we will continue to implement other international programs. We want to ensure that FPP UMM is not only recognized internationally but also continues to innovate and make real contributions to education and industry,” he stated.

Furthermore, these ongoing international programs are part of UMM's strategy to build a broader global network. This effort aims to continuously enhance collaboration with international institutions and academics.
Looking ahead, Henik hopes that this accreditation can serve as a stepping stone for FPP UMM to keep innovating. “We aim to bring more of our study programs to the international level. Of course, this requires hard work and commitment from all parties, but with the spirit and dedication that FPP possesses, I am confident we can achieve even more,” he concluded.(ri/wil/fajr)
