Fastest, UMM Dome Robot Races to USA

Moving agile, Robot Dome by Robotics Team Electrical Engineering Department Faculty of Engineering University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) won the first category of Indonesian Fire Extinguisher Robot Contest (KRPAI) in Indonesian National Robot Contest (KRI) 2018.
Successfully showing the highest accuracy and fastest time in shooting point of fire, UMM Dome Robot successfully sat in the first rank with total time of 3.62 and left its two toughest rivals namely Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya and Polytechnic of Surabaya State Electronics (EEPIS).
"When you see the name of Dome in the top, it feels great relief," explained UMM Robotics team leader, Alfan Achmadillah Fauzi.
The achievements of his predecessors at the international level, became the lighter of team spirit comprising Alfan Achmadillah Fauzi (chairman), Ken Dedes Maria Kunthy (technician), and Rochmansyah (member). They also claim to have done a mature preparation for the contest that took place at Sportarium University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) this.
"With the passion of our successful predecessors, we are much better prepared in this fight," explained Rochmansyah, one of the team members.
UMM Robotics team leader Alfan Achmadillah Fauzi (chairman) added that in addition to team spirit, special research conducted for three months to make his team feel confident will come out as the national champion.
"Practicing for three months makes us very confident to pitch to the national level," he explained.
The victory of UMM Robotics team is also a golden ticket for UMM to participate in the international robot contest in the United States.
"The next step, we will definitely continue to research the robot to be more excellent in the international contest later," explained Pembina UMM Robotics Team Nur Alif, Saturday (14/7).
The coach who is also a lecturer of Electrical Engineering is also admitted that will prepare two other robots to be raced in the international arena.
"Step forward, we will complete two other robots from the legged division and wheeled to prepare for the race in USA," he explained.
The 18th KRI is a national competition that is divided into five divisions, namely Indonesian Robot Abu (ABC) Contest, Indonesian Fire Robot Contest (KRPAI), Indonesian Football Robot Contest (KRSBI) Humanoid, Indonesian Football Robot Contest (KRSBI) Beroda, and Indonesian Dance Robot Contest (KRSTI). A total of 91 teams from 48 universities in Indonesia competed in this prestigious event. (ard).
