Many new and fun things are obtained when participating in an international program. This was also felt by Eginuari Ilhani, a student in the Law study program at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). He managed to become one of the participants in the Study of US Institute (SUSIs) organized by the United States Government (US). There, he learned about history and religion in the US, considering he was included in the Religious Diversity and Democratic branch.
" I was invited to visit various historical locations of all religions in the US. I will be serving at the Dialogue Institute in Pennsylvania for the next month. Thus far, we have been invited to one of the oldest mosques in the US, the Cuban Mosque. Then we learned about Islam in the US and its history," he explained.

Egi, as he is often called, said that later the participants will also visit iconic places of Christians and learn about their religion. So they can understand and respect each other's culture and religious teachings.
Other than trying to understand many religions, the program taught Egi how to be a good leader in the current era. Then also how to use social media properly and correctly to invite people to goodness. This was following Egi's hopes and goals to become an agent of change who stands at the frontline to encourage societal change to be better.
Egi is grateful to be an awardee of this program. According to him, this results from hard work and God's blessings. He admitted that he didn't expect much. He just filled in the registration form, participated in the interview selection, and waited for the announcement.

"I waited for the announcement for a long time and thought that I didn't qualify. Moreover, there were also many applicants from various countries. But apparently my luck was good enough and I was selected," he said happily.
This student from Pontianak said that his success was inseparable from the encouragement of UMM's American Corner (Amcor), which continues to provide information and tips. Amcor also offers other cool information that can be found and attempted by the academic community there.
"I am lucky to be at UMM's White Campus which provides many international program opportunities. Through these programs, students can take an important role in initiating good change. Whether it's at the regional to international level. Don't be afraid to try various things while you are still young, "concluded Egi. (put/ri/wil)
