Three Problems of Social Economic Become Focus of UMM KKN

TWO Programs of Ministry of Social Affairs  and one program of Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek) became main focus of implementation of the Real Working Lecture (KKN) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Three programs, namely repairing of Uninhabitable Home (Rutilahu), Business Group (Kube) and Science and Technology for the Region (IBW).

It was delivered by Head of KKN Division and Regional Development Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) UMM, Drs Amir Syarifuddin MP when releasing 924 UMM students second period of KKN 2016/2017, Thursday (12/1). They will be placed in 33 villages at Great Malang, Pacitan, Probolinggo and Pasuruan.

The three programs that mentioned above was an advanced program that was already implemented like period of previous KKN beside to KKN regular program that consist of field of religious, economic, social, cultural, environmental, and health. In total, there were six villages that will implement IbW with various programs according to the potential of each village.

In his opening remarks, Rector of UMM Fauzan stated that students who were doing KKN was one of the UMM’s hammer within countryside. Therefore, students should demonstrate that they have the competencies which can be accessed by the whole residents.

"The logical consequence of students who are in the village considered as the elite and educated people. Therefore, utilize that image to influence and empower people according to the program that you have planned," Fauzan messaged before releasing KKN Students officially.

Fauzan also stressed students not to do anything that was contrary to the mission of KKN and to remain in keeping behaviour and custom of residents.

"50 percent success of KKN is determined by the success all of you to adapt with residents. Adaptation succeeded, then the program will be successful. Conversely, if the adaptation failed, do not expect the program will be implemented properly, "he said. (Ich / han)
