Contribution after contribution was made by the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). One of them was conducted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Sujono, M. Kes. and his team. Throughout 2023, they developed livestock and fish-based agro-tourism. This program also seeks to improve the economy of rural communities in realizing independent and prosperous villages. This program received funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture-Dikti for the 2023 period, implemented in Sumbergedang village, Pandaan sub-district, Pasuruan.

Sujono, his nickname, explained that this service is accurate because Sumbergedang village has good potential but has yet to be maximized. For example, the natural conditions are green and cool because it is around the mountains. Likewise, the water source flows throughout the year, and the Talang Abang bridge with a length of about 200 meters.

"Actually, before the Covid pandemic, this village had tourist destinations for Adas Fridaus and Talang Abang flower gardens. Unfortunately, these destinations were closed because they were too empty. So we are trying to revive it by giving it a different touch," he said.

The coordinator of the UMM Assistant Rector continued that other potentials that can be developed are the sheep that are currently taken care of by the Ternak Mendo Membumi Group and the ornamental fish business handled by the Fish Farmer Group. However, they encounter fodder problems because they have been unable to produce their own booster fodder. Thus, the farmers have to rely on expensive manufactured fodder.

He said there will be three phases in three years. The first year is to empower sheep and ornamental fish. The second year will revive village agro-tourism by organizing river rafting through the Talang Abang bridge and building a flower garden.

"The third year is the arrangement of culinary group MSMEs that will back up the agro-tourism of Sumbergedang village. The culinary MSMEs that specialize in Sumbergedang Village are beras kencur drinks and various chips from local ingredients. They will also be taught about bookkeeping and digital-based marketing," he explained.

Sujono and his team teach pre-farmers how to make sheep and fish fodder formulas through a multipurpose chopping and flouring machine in this first year. They are also teaching how to prevent and handle livestock and fish diseases. Through these programs, it is expected that farmers can reduce maintenance costs and increase income. As well as to prepare for agro-tourism activities in Sumbergedang village. (Put/*/Wil)
