Improving Foreign Cooperation, UMM Prepares Students to Face International World

The effort of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) to gain international recognition is not light. In addition to achievements, the foreign cooperation is also continuously improved.

Recently, it cooperates to University of Science Malaysia. Program study of Psychology University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held 3rd Asean Conference on Psycology, Conseling and Humanities (AC PCH) at UMM Technical Hall, Saturday (21/10).

It was ttended by practitioners, academics, researchers and students of psychology from various regions in Indonesia and neighboring countries. The series of events that lasted for two days were not only seminars. The participants also had the opportunity to make presentations and then presenting their research results.

The event's chairman, Zainul Anwar M.Psi, said that through various international programs, UMM could be a research reference, both for internal and external parties.

"Later, we will also conduct publications of these researches, so we hope that the ending can be used as reference for people in conducting research", he said.

Furthermore, Zainal said, his side will continuely increase cooperation between UMM with various foreign institutions. This is important, because students have to start adapting to international world. Therefore, UMM can globalize in accordance with its mission and vision.

"Students need to be introduced to the outside world, so this activity is very useful", he said.

On the occasion, the ones who presented as a speaker were M. Salis Yuniardi M.Psi (a lecturer of Psychology UMM), and Salis who presented her finding on depression with a cognitive approach. In addition, Dr. Aini from University of Science Malaysia also shared her experience about Psychology.

Azka Maulana, UMM Psychology Master student, who also attended the event revealed his enthusiasm to join this activity. "I am very interested to participate in this event, because it can meet and establish relationships with Malaysia, Arab, Philippines and other participants from outside UMM," closed Azka. (ard)
