THERE were 28 Students Activity Units (UKM) of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM0 on UMM helipad, Saturday (10/10). The UKMs performed themselves in UKM Fair as one of the series of Student Day 2015 events.
According to the chief commitee Ahmad Shobrun Jamil, this event is intended to introduce the UKMs to the freshmen. “UKMs are the media for students to prove their talents in non-academic way and also to improve their experience,” he said.
For the UKM organizers, this event is not only a media to promote their units to the freshmen, but also to exhibit their programs. “Through this event, all the UKMs should prepare good performances. They have to prepare stands providing photos of their activities, data of achievements and interesting decoration, so that the freshmen and juries are able to show great appreciation. “This will be considered to choose the best UKM,” said the Chief of Students Bureau UMM, Abdullah Masmuh.
The assessment for the best UKM will be last until December 2015 due to the juries’ occupation in assessing the office management and archiving in each UKM. The winner will be announced in the closing of Student Day on December 12 2015. (nov/han/t_far)
