To facilitate the program Center of Excellence (CoE), the University of Muhammadiyah Malang prepared a complex for C-Junction as the center of CoE activities, as said by the Rector of UMM, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., in a meeting held by UMM Executives with the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Singashari and a contractor team constructing the complex.

The Rector from Kediri said that in the future, the CoE programs aren't only followed by UMM students but also non-UMM and international ones. It's a manifestation of the inclusiveness of the White Campus — the alias of UMM — to serve the nation: generating excellent human resources and internationalizing the quality of education and university.

The Rector, known as Fauzan, emphasized that UMM not only thinks about the architectural aspects of the buildings but also pays attention to preserving its surrounding natural resources, like a healthy and comfortable atmosphere and ecosystem of UMM, which supports the learning process.

On the other hand, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ), David Santoso, affirmed his high commitment to UMM related to this development project. David and his team will maximize their work, from the planning stage to the ending one. "My team and I will try our best to develop and implement this construction project by UMM's expectations. With that said, existing processes in C-Junction can align with the expectations and generate superior human resources, as planned before," said he.

Another similar yet interesting idea was also said by the Head of the Campus Development Supervisory Agency of UMM, Ir. Erwin Rommel, M.T., that even though the CoE is a form of internationalization manifesto, UMM doesn't ignore the spirit of Muhammadiyah's struggle. C-Junction will have a preaching building center and a residential and international student dormitory.

"Although this CoE development project focuses on internationalization, we don't forget that UMM is a Muhammadiyah university. As much as possible, an Islamic Center will be provided in the complex of C-Junction. Therefore, it not only generates skillful human resources but also the noble ones," ended he. (imh/faq/wil)
