ENTERING the upcoming pilgrimage season of 1438 Hijriah, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) will dispatch as many as 22 haj pilgrims. The group, which was consisting of lecturers and employees had fulfilled some requirements, one of it has been experienced and dedicated at least 25 years for UMM.
An employees who will be dispatched, Imam Shafi'i expressed his gratitude and happiness. His 25 year-devotion was rewarded by his departure to the Holy Land of Mecca. In his daily life, Imam is an assisten of letter expedition man and helping administrative matter at the General Administration Bureau (BAU).
"I am very thankful to UMM that has financed me and other employees. Including cost of pilgrimage, manasik (haj rehearsal), immigration, health and others. Thanks so much for UMM," he said when interviewed after a release-event of UMM haj pilgrims on Tuesday, August 1.
Vice Rector II Dr. Nazarudin Malik MM explained that every year UMM has a tradition of dispatching some employees, lecturers and their families to go to mecca. "As an institution under the Muhammadiyah, this haj becomes a tradition for all UMM family," he said.
BAU head as well as the responsible person of the event, Ir Sunarto MT, in his report described the entire cost of employees departure was fully funded by the university. Whereas for lecturers, Sunarto continued were given an assistance to ease their cost of haj departure.
Daily Executing Agency (BPH) Secretary of UMM Wakidi also attended and gave some advises. He reminded the places where prayers easily granted, they are the multazam doors, the yamani doors and the black stone. "Pray for yourself, for your relatives and for the big family of the campus," he said. (Naz)
