UMM Sends Students to Learn Culture and Mandarin to China

19 students of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) attended Summer Camp program at Guangxi Normal University, Guilin, China. The students who come from various courses (Prodi) is going to learn culture and Mandarin directly from the experts, including learning how to write Chinese characters or Hanzi, cooking typical foods, playing musical instruments, and learning martial arts Wushu.
 
Assistant Rector of Cooperation Sector UMM, Soeparto explained that, Summer Camp program for UMM students is actually a bonus for those who join Mandarin class. This is applied to the students both who enter the course through semester credit system scheme (SKS) in two study programs at UMM, namely DIII Finance and Banking and English Language Education Department, as well as those who take Chinese course in China Corner.
 
"All students have the same opportunities to fly to China. Most importantly, they can pass the level II of Chinese exam (red Hànyǔ shuǐpíng kǎoshì) from two levels at UMM," explained the lecturer of English Language Education Department Faculty of Teacher Traning and Education (FKIP) UMM, Wednesday (11/7) .
 
The program will last for about two weeks, (6-22 / 7) accompanied by the Coordinator of China Corner and a Mandarin class teacher. Yenni Ulfaini, one of the participants of the DIII Finance and Banking program admitted that she is proud to join the program. She decided to learn and take knowledge as much as possible in the Land of Bamboo Curtain.
 
"Hopefully, I can apply the knowledge gained and re-learn in China in the future," she hoped.
