University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) plans to realize credit transfer program collaborated with Towson University in US. The representative of Towson University, Anna Wise MBA visited UMM this week (2/10)
Assistant Rector for Foreign Cooperation, Soeparto explained that, credit transfer program can be done through study exchange for one semester. This program is for Postgraduate students. “The first step is, we focus on how to realize credit transfer program. But, they (the representatives of Towson University) are also interested to cooperate in other programs such as Summer Course, Learn and Teach, and Darmasiswa”.
Meanwhile, Anna Wise said that, her visit to Indonesia aims to expand partners in Asia. "We want to expand our cooperation to Asia, especially Indonesia. In East Java, we visit UMM as the representative of Malang city, Institute of Technology Sepuluh November (ITS), and Airlangga University (Unair)”.
Furthermore, Soeparto said that the goal of Towson University is the same as the third phase of internationalizationgoal of UMM, which is focused on making cooperation with campuses in US.” UMM has made cooperation in the US, but it is just cooperation with governments”.
Previously, UMM has made cooperation with the US, such as the establishment of American Corner in main library of UMM as the result of cooperation with the US Embassy, Education USA, Peace Corps, and US Army. (lus)
